You don't see the beauty in the words and the music? :( try watching A delicate sound of thunder, their video of a concert..

"How I wish, how I wish you were here..we're just two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl, year after year..runnin over the same old ground, but have you found the same old fears..wish you were here.."
Nevermind.. edit: found it - The Royal Albert Hall concert. Amazing. Not MTV Unplugged.

Liking any kind of art form is such a subjective thing and trying to describe why is difficult. As for Pink Floyd, they're songs seem to expand in my mind as I listen to them and that is without any kind of chemical inducements. Roger Waters was the lyricist up until The Wall and they had a very political bent. When David Gilmour carried on he depended on others for the words and the sound changed a fair bit.

Btw, I'm counting the days to Mar 31st, when I will go see Mr Gilmour live in Toronto.

I know they meant "Wish You Were Here" for Syd, but I think of my dead childhood friend, Curt, every time I hear that song. Every time. He liked Pink Floyd too. We'd listen to "A Saucerful of Secrets" in his room.

And I want a particular version of "The Great Gig in the Sky" played at my funeral. I'm positive it's on "A Delicate Sound of Thunder." It's beautiful and wrenching, and the third singer is just... ethereal.

Well, heck. I know that I saw....

Okay, I looked it up. Thank you, good ol' Wikipedia (yeah, I send 20 bucks now and then when they ask).

"On the Delicate Sound of Thunder video, the vocals are shared by Rachel Fury, Durga McBroom and Margret Taylor." It's the video that I saw. I bet it's only available on VHS or whatever pirate versions exist out there. Dangit. It was freakin' awesome. I'm quite sure that it was Margaret Taylor who voiced that haunting, wrenching third piece of the vocals.

I guess I better get to cracking on finding a version of it, because I'm not sure that my survivors will want to go to the trouble just to fill that last request of mine when there's other easier alternative versions to be found.

Thanks! I'll check it out later - the network that I'm own during work hours sees that as blocked content. No, I don't suspect there's anything salacious - I think the network admins here are zealous about keeping people's minds on their work.

yeah sorry,I knew the link was weak..try this,I think this is the one you mean..

Gracias. I'm sure that's it - I recognize the one lady from the video still.

Sorry about the postus interruptus up there. I found a link on "DailyMotion" (I think that's the name of the site) that looked promising, but my current environment doesn't allow the site through its filter. I'm starting to wonder what else might be on it. I'll have to wait till the evening.

I don't get the Kardashians' popularity, period, no ifs, ands, or butts.
