My kids use this stuff. I buy real maple syrup and hide it away for my own personal use. Got to give those New Englanders credit, as they do know how to make good syrup.
Ha! I used to do that, too. I have a feeling my kids grew up thinking the real deal was only "for special" but IIRC they didn't like it as much anyway. Probably just because they'd gotten used to the imitation. At least we're not quite as hardcore as the Canadians, though. We don't have a Global Strategic Maple Syrup Reserve that I'm aware of. ;-D

I understand New Hampshire maple syrup producers claim their syrup is the best in the world. I bet the Mainers here (or Mainiacs as I prefer to call them ;)) would tend to disagree.

Perhaps this is so, but I always found Vermont's to be the best. I used to make some when the kids were wee pancake eaters. The process of making the syrup is a great way of taking wallpaper off.
