The statement without the commas reads that he likes cooking his family and his pets, not that those are three separate things he likes. It should have been written: I like cooking, my family, and my pets. The comment below it is pointing out that he should have used commas in order not to sound like a psycho who likes to cook his family and pets.Still not getting it,the way you have it,doesn't that mean he's cooking his family and pets? Otherwise it's just a nonsensical statement.. These, are the things that keep me up late at night..
