I've never tried weed, does it make you drunk? I mean, can you drive and smoke it? I would love to have a non-addictive option for pain when needed. I don't want to have a muddled mind, though. Just curious. PM me if you don't want to say openly.

No, it doesn't get you drunk but you still can't drive. Marijuana is not addictive. Cannabis oil, I hear, doesn't muddle your brain because there's no THC in it. Lepplady is the expert on those. I prefer edibles and only in the evenings unless I'm really hurting. I find it helps pain killer work better so I use less.

BTW, I wrote about three grannies smoking for the first time (back when I wrote for this site which has gone downhill since I left)

I just read your article; nice work. Unfortunately, it is still illegal here in Alabama, even with support for its medical usage. I took opiods for eleven years and got off of them. (Painkillers were very helpful and even boosted my mood, but I had my own reasons for not taking them anymore.) I'd like to be able to one day use cannabis for nerve pain. Is it effective?

Yar.
There are two types of cannabis oil.
CBD oil (unleaded) has no (or miniscule traces of) THC.
Rick Simpson oil (leaded) has THC. But ingesting it in proper dosages shouldn't get ya stoned. Because of the process of extracting the essential oil, it's a completely different chemical compound than what happens during recreational use.
If a person ingests too much like, oh say, licking a smudge off yer finger (yep. Done it), it's possible to have a really freaky trip. Not gonna lie about that. Really freaky. But never dangerous. It's impossible to overdose. THC doesn't affect the area of the brain that controls breathing or heartbeat.
Well, I guess it could be dangerous if someone on a freaky trip tries to drive or something, but I digress. The oil itself can't hurt a body.

Taken properly, neither oil should get ya high. They just cure a body of what ails it. Pain, Parkinson's, seizures, cancer, depression, and a whole lot more.

Didn't mean to threadjack. Sorry.
Carry on.

Ya. Legality is the problem. The world is changing, but not fast enough. To answer your question, yes. There is nothing better for pain. I know people who have shaken opioids in favor of RSO.
