10:55 a.m. and conditions in my part of the island (Western coast) haven't deteriorated yet. Irma is still Category 5 with winds up to 185 mph. Rain has been reported in the northern coast. Apparently the eye will miss the island by a substantial distance. Flooding will still be a problem, however. Keeping our fingers crossed. Prufrock21 reporting from the Western coast of PR.

The bad news is that the latest track is about the worst possible scenario for me. I'm on the East Coast across from the top of Lake Okeechobee. The newest track has the eye going over me (my area is an eye magnet. I've been through 5 or 6 of them). But the good news (if there is any) is that the track keeps shifting a little to the East. There are a couple of models showing the storm turning away from FL and going out to sea. That's what I'm hoping for now.

I've been manifesting, hoping for a good right turn east and out to the ocean without landfall to FL east coast. Stay safe fljoe0

When you've been through a few hurricanes, you really get tired of seeing the same stupid things on the news. ;-D We are at the stage now where the news crews are running to Home Depot to get video of people buying plywood. I wonder how many hours of my life have been wasted watching people buy plywood. ;-D
Or showing us empty store shelves.

This is going to be a rough ride. It looks like it's going to be an I-95 hurricane all the way to Jacksonville. The track has the storm making landfall in Miami. I can't remember Miami being hit before so I'm not sure what to expect (Andrew was South of Miami and didn't have much impact on Miami). Miami is right at sea level so there could be a bad storm surge situation. I'm a little over 100 miles North of Miami so the hurricane should weaken some before it gets to us but not too much. If it stays on it's track, we will probably still have category 3 or 4 winds. I've been in a 3 before but never a 4.

I hope the gas stations get some gas overnight. I couldn't find any gas earlier. The supplies are going quick around here.

Sunny (I can't remember how to tag someone so I'll have to yell Sunny's name),

Are you in the path of this storm when it leaves Fla?
To 'tag' someone: type the @ symbol followed by their user name. Their name should automatically show up after you've typed the first three letters of their name. To tag me you should do this @kin........and a list will appear for you to pick whomever you want to tag. To tag Sunny you should do this: @sun then pick from the list.

Well, that is the question of the week. A couple of the models show it coming here. I'm in the mountains of NC, right at the blue ridge. I remember years ago, we all laughed when they said Hugo could make it this far.....we don't do that any more.

I hope y'all are safe.
