I have been extremely sceptical of this new IT movie, pretty much since square one. The changing of directors, the updated setting, it all gave me a bad taste in my mouth. Then I saw the promo pictures, and I thought "hey, that looks pretty cool".

Then I saw the trailer, and I have been 95% won over. As much as I have a soft spot for the miniseries (well, the first half), I am glad this movie is being made. I can't really think of a mainstream horror story on anywhere near the scale of IT (many main characters, set over decades, interdimensional entities etc) and I think if they pull it off, it would be a much needed break from the multitude of found-footage/ghost movies (although I am fond of The Conjuring movies). Trailer looks damn good.

I have only one remaining query, and that is the question of Pennywise's voice. I hope to hear it in the next trailer, and unless it's some really awful growl, then I will be totally won over.

If you can’t judge a book by its cover, can you judge a movie by its trailer? I don’t know, but this trailer looks bad a$$ as hell and I must see this one on the big screen! With that said, I remember SK once saying in an interview that movie scripts are shallow and novels are deep. I agree with that as every SK novel adaptation to motion picture I’ve seen (like all of them) pales compared to the novel. So, I’ll see the new IT with low expectations and enjoy the surprise if it blows me away. Special note to the two posters who haven’t been to the cinema in 20+ years…popcorn ain’t a buck-fifty no more. I’m just warning ya.

So how many times have you guys rewatched the trailer? ;)
Only like 10 times. And made my family watch it too... :m_fingers: It looks fecking epic, not gonna lie. No pun intended. I kind of like that it's set in the 80's. And yes, Pennywise looks pretty spot on, from what I can see. I'm officially excited!:m_adore: Kinda wondering how Skarsgard will play Bob-o when he's being all lure-y, now...

Yeah, it will be nostalgic for me since I'm a child of the '80s but I had very sentimental feelings about the music and cars from the era in the novel. My reservations have been put aside, though, after seeing the trailer. I have high hopes. I'm curious if we have a rating and time duration, yet?

They'd better give us at least 2 1/2 hours for this!!!
