And today I got my copy of The Last Jedi.
I haven't seen it yet, so I hope I like it. The reactions (from the audience, not the critics) when it came out were so negative, that I didn't know I should go see it at the cinema or not.
I liked The Force Awakens, mainly because of the new actors who made it feel very fresh, but you can't say that it did anything new - it was more of a retread of A New Hope, so it worked more in a nostalgic sense because it brought you back to when you first watched that.

We liked it more than Force Awakens, probably for the reason you mention. It didn't have another dang Death Star iteration.

My favorite Star Wars after the first three (or middle three, if that's how you look at it) was Rogue One.

Agree.

Rogue One was pretty cool.
The only Reason i watched it was, that it's seperataly from the usuall Storyline, it's a stand alone Star Wars Movie

anybody notice that John Ratzenberger, Cliff Clavin of Cheers fame, was a part of the Rebel force on the ice planet Hoth in Empire Strikes Back?

In an otherwise forgettable Star Wars Episode 1, this light saber battle was one of the best things I've ever seen on the big screen. It made the rest of the movie worth watching imho.
