So it's finally coming to a close. The Daily Show announced its last week of guests who are mostly comedians. The last episode will be 50 minutes long.

Jon Stewart's Final Daily Show Guests Revealed - IGN

It's hard to believe Stewart is no longer doing the Daily Show. His comedic talent, intellectual ability and likeability made a rare blend that will be missed. No one could point out the absurd in politics and the 24 hour news cycle in such an entertaining fashion.

Only Obama can force him back...

Due to my job I have now, I never really got to watch the late night shows, be it Letterman or Stewart. But, Stewart was always funny to me. Another icon rides off into the sunset......

I didn't watch every episode, I typically watched clips on Comedy Central's website.

It's going to be weird not having him articulate what many of us are thinking about the news media and politics.

Good riddance! I always thought his show, although entertaining at times, had too much influence on the low information voter. IMO we’re better off without him.

Glad to see someone willing to speak the truth about him and his show.

Daily Show: Thanks, Jon Stewart, for Making Us All Dumber
Oh, please. What he did was inform the public about the truth rather than the misinformation that was being shoveled out on FOX. Too bad the low information voters probably never heard it to have any influence on them because they were turning in to FOX instead.

Give me a break! When anyone questioned his obvious partisan hackery and biased methods, his retort was always that his show was mere COMEDY. What... you don’t believe him? ;)

I think more likely you're just happy that there isn't someone to call FOX and other conservatives out on the mistruths they try to perpetrate on the public. ;) FOX isn't going to stop partying for months now that they think they can pull the wool over everyone's eyes without someone to contradict their BS. And perhaps the reason he spent less time correcting the Democrats (which he DID including President Obama) when they were in the wrong is because the preponderance of misinformation being given out and bias was on the Republican side.

What you talkin’ ‘bout Ms Mod? We’re gonna have Trevor Noah. Although I don’t think he’ll be able to pull off the funny faces and odd noises as well as Stewart did to show us all how insightful he is. :)

I suppose there is some value in making people generally more aware of the political landscape than they otherwise would be -- and baby, if you're not laughing at what's going on in this country, you may as well cry -- but this business of partisans arguing over which side lies "more" is . . .

Well . . . mom always said if you can't say anything nice . . .

; )

Jon Stewart and Comedy Central never ever purported themselves to be a news source. That people came there seeking it as such was not their fault. Fox News does however purport themselves to be a news source. And not just that, but the ONLY one telling the truth.

So let's do the math, fake news show that lampoons the news media and political commentary that airs on the Comedy Channel is supposed to be taken seriously and seen as an outfit that must adhere to journalistic standards, lest they be hacks? But Fox News, whose many debunked lies and assumptions intended to actually influence and twist discourse, they are the victims of this comedian's biased lampooning? He's a comedian. That's what they do. It's not funny if there aren't elements of truth to the joke.

I suppose The Onion also gets you all twisted up with their anti-right wing rhetoric too?

This latest logic rape of yours is utter and total crap. Like crap that crap craps out level crap.
