I've only been on this board a few weeks but I really like it as well. One of the few places I haven't seen people online degenerate into insults and threats. I generally come here and browse even if I'm not necessarily in the mood to talk about books for that reason.

It's not that some people haven't tried, it's just that they can't get away with it here for long. For quite a while now we haven't had a serious problem with people who think this site is like other sites they can crash like the parties they must like to attend. The main reason they don't last here is the mods who know what the rules are and aren't afraid to enforce them. Without the mods I think we'd be sitting ducks, with them we know what our behavior should and shouldn't be, so we all learn where the boundaries are drawn, and how to help maintain them. We're a tet, a team loyal to a cause which is to be reps for sK and each other.

Exactly. I've only been on for a few months, and it's by far the most amiable, respectful, nonconfrontational thread I've been on. I've waltzed in, within a few weeks was acting like I owned the place, and the people here have been friendly, accommodating, and accepting.

Seriously. This is an outstanding place, and not too many other places like it on the Internet. Great job, mods and participants. Great job.

Same here, I know some of you have all been on here a long time, and all respect to you. That says something when you have members that have been around that long & keep coming back. But there is still interaction with the new'uns, without shutting us down & not letting us into the clique.

Most of you have been accommodating, & I always pop in for a nose - might not necessarily comment on anything, but there is always something to read, discuss or a topic to share opinions on. And sometimes makes me wish I came from America so I would have more of a common link (apart from SK).

Blue potatoes are real. Grew them once. Tasted like a regular potato, but when you boiled them they turned gray. Couldn’t get past the color thing and never tried them again.

Have seen those but never tried them. We have purple asparagus that turns back to green when it's cooked. Tastes the same as regular asparagus but looks pretty when it's growing.

I tried some different-colored broccoli once. Yellow or purple or something. Too dry, so I figured it was a stocking issue rather than a product issue, but had no reason to try them again.
