So ... something away from Coronavirus. I remember Moderator, Marsha a while back saying she's going to visit New Zealand in a little while, which sounds pretty good. Could I possibly change your mind?

Nah, just kidding. Love New Zealand.
At the time I'd said that, I was already booked for a trip to Scotland in September of this year. The travel agency canceled the trip, though, as not enough people signed up. It's still on my bucket list and I'll be going there someday to look up where some of my ancestors came from along with the usual sites.

Very cool, did it say were it was you were going to be staying, or was it an all over journey. We have many great monuments, our statue of Mel Gibson is paramount. :)

Oh, by the way. I found an interview Steve did with The Scotsman a while back, in it he talks about the one and only time he visited Scotland.

It was an all over tour by bus once we got to Edinburgh.

I don't remember reading that interview before. Have to correct the info given in the very first paragraph. Steve writes his stories at his home office (wherever that happens to be) and only comes to the "office" when he needs to do any other business. It's also where he typically does his interviews and it's very unusual for him to do any from home. It piqued my curiosity so looked back through emails and was reminded the interview was done there because he'd hurt his back so didn't want to go to the office.

What gets me is that; The Scotsman would send a reporter all the way to Maine for an interview. I mean, could they not have just have done it over the phone?

Of course, and that's more often than not the way they're done but exceptions are made now and then. It just happened that for that book Steve did two interviews for Hodder and both of them were in person from Bangor.
