Well if it helps, I drove roughly 5000 miles round rip when I came to Bangor last time. My Accord averaged around 35mpg. With the prices at the time, I spent about $425 total for gas for the trip. North Carolina is 9-10 hours from me.

Last time that I met a group of people from this Board
I was with my sisters and we instantly adored
Everybody that we met (as I was sure we would.)
Now we're thinking that this King Convention's sounding good.
King Con 2018's being held in Bangor, ME...
That's just up the road from us. I'd have to be insane
If I didn't take the chance to meet the people who
I have come to like so much - So, we'll be coming, too.

Well, there's a really convenient and reasonably priced bus from Logan Airport (Boston) to Bangor. Gas prices in Boston look like they're hovering around the $2/gallon price today but there's a lot of mileage between there and NC. It's roughly a 12 hour drive from Boston to North Carolina but that's just to the border--she'd have to figure out how long from there to her friend's in NC. Still might be worth checking into flights and then a rental car once she's in the area.
...Marsha spoke with local Chamber who have mothballed them but is going to do one for us....
Seems like fuel in Boston are around 35p a litre.
Is that the place with the creepy fortune cookies?Only thing that comes immediately to mind is Oriental Jade but I usually only do take-out from them so don't know if they even still do a buffet. We can add that to the to do list to figure out between now and July '18.
You're asking someone who still hasn't read IT. I know, I know, total blasphemy! At least I knew the reference, though. Is that the place with the creepy fortune cookies?
