morgan, do you mind me asking who you lost recently? I don't want to bring up painful memories so if you don't want to talk about it I understand. I hope you try and enjoy the holiday regardless. Nobody wants you to be sad.
It was actually my precious girl, my dog Sadie. She was 15 1/2. I don't have human children and she was my whole world.
I didn't "like" your post because of what you wrote but because you told me. Thank you and I am so sorry. I'm glad you were able to have her for 15 years. I understand how you feel. I don't have human kids either(by choice though). I have an almost 17 year old poodle, I got him when he was two so we've been together a long time. He's doing well for his age but I know it's coming and I dread the day it does come. Some people don't understand how much a pet can mean to someone. You never find humans that are that loyal or love you unconditionally. I'll bet you gave her a great life, obviously she was happy because she lived a long one. I truly think happiness keeps them around longer.

Maybe there will be a few good years at some point and the holiday spirit will return!
