Lies You May Have Told

Have you ever told a big one that came back to bite you?

I am not a liar, but found myself telling a whopper to a prospective employer as to why I wasn't at work. Fess up ~ let's hear em.

I can't remember ever having told a lie so am looking for some tips.

After my brother's death, I was telling my Mom the truth about how that huge hole showed up in the back yard.
She looked at me sort of confused and said "It never occurred to me that my children would lie to me."
I gave her a stern look and replied "Really?.....Because it occurred to us daily."

I'm not in the habit of telling lies, however there is a good deal of truth I have held back from stating.

I once committed a federal crime and got away with it. The fruits from this crime enabled me to commit a lesser crime. I entrusted 2 of my friends in my scheme, and they went along with it. When the compost eventually hit the Cuisinart I took the fall and protected my 2 friends by lieing my a## off. I was 15 years old. I've told the specifics of that storey to a few people over the years and they both said I should write it down. I guess some truths are stranger than fiction.
