Thanks! It's related to two of my favourite things. (A very special friend here on the MB actually made a cross-stitch of this with some Hershey's Kisses on it too and mailed it to me a few years ago, it's hanging on the wall in my kitchen. So precious.)

Perhaps The Langoliers from the novel Four Past Midnight? Although the story features monsters, I found the internal demons of the characters (which includes creations, alienation and rejection) far more interesting than the mindless creatures.
