Not being specific does help maintain the "flow" when writing so that it's not as important to make sure you've got every little detail right. He may have been thinking about keeping the nit-picking about how he got it wrong to a minimum if he had used a specific spot. Seems like the guy just can't win as he gets the nit-picking no matter what.

~ I really don't like it when an exact location isn't given in a book. I guess I'm 'old school' and really love the ones that take place in Maine. No, I'm not from Maine ~ not even an American. ;) But, I'm ok with the location being 'any place' ~ as long as it's 'some place'. Just my opinion.

Still ~ really love the story and, of course, couldn't put the book down. :) This will make a fantastic movie!

I didn't mind, but when a city
hands out a proclamation, the name of the city is typically mentioned. I thought we were going to find out the name of the town for sure at that point.

Absolutely loved this book. It was a joy to read. And as a born-and-raised Ohioan, I have to say I did not notice any inconsistencies as far as area are concerned.
