Really? Were did you dig that up from? ;)

Wikipedia notes that Yul Brynner played Prince Rameses II, Moses's "brother" in The Ten Commandments (1956 film).

But I bow to the knowledge of the Archaeologist.
Not anything specifically, Its just that he isn't one of my fave pharaohs. In spite of Abu Simbel and other temples. He was Probably before Moses in time from a chronological point of view. If, as researchers believe Moses could have been living about 1200 bc when the Exodus took place. then Ramses II is dead of old age 1213. Ramses the III became Pharaoh about 1186 so would have been a Prince if the dating for Moses is correct about 1200. But he had a lot of other problems to worry about in his time. A few runaway jews wouldn't have been high up on his list of priorities. But if, As first Kings says it was 480 years after the exit out of Egypt that Salomon built his temple (But to lean very hard on dates from that source is unwise) then the Moses should have been living about 1450 bc instead. Then Perhaps under the Pharaoh Hatshepsut or Totmes III.

Interesting. Thanks for the history lesson.

The world's second oldest joke, found on the Westcar Papyrus, circa 1600 BC...

"How do you entertain a bored pharaoh? You sail a boatload of young women dressed only in fishing nets down the Nile and urge the pharaoh to go catch a fish."

I guess you had to be there. :)
