15 days in jail rather than life huh, Sir?
How about court mandated anger management and counseling? That would have made more sense. Some sense.
I'd do the 15 days in jail and pursue legal action against the judge. This is stupid as hell (and likely judicial misconduct).
So, a guy with a temper that uses his fists, makes a good husband? What did the young woman do to get punished?

Definitely weird. Why did the judge push for marriage? Where's the rest of the story? (I miss Paul Harvey...)
And why didn't the judge look further into the assault? Was the ex-boyfriend threatening bodily harm? Or was it just a male pissing contest? Inquiring minds want to know.

It's called East Texas justice... this is common here. This particular judge has the God syndrome .. and he really is an a$$.
