ould you keep us updated on the final outcome of this. The goose was okay, yes? (Not reading story.)

I would be happy to. The mother goose should be okay as a lot of her injuries were to her feathers and tongue/head as she tried to extinguish the fire. The big question is the eggs. They have every intention of letting the goose back into the wild when she is able.

They rescued the bird and the eggs, but her tail feathers and flight feathers are singed, so she is being kept somewhere until they grow back and she can fly.

Also, they had some other eggs that she may be able to sit on, as birds sometimes 'adopt' other eggs.

The eggs they rescued are being kept in an incubator in hopes they were not damaged by the heat. (5 out of the 6 eggs, with scorch marks on them)

The story is not that bad, actually, but I can understand why you would prefer not to click on the link, Dana
(This is what I got from my first read, but I might have mixed up some facts - will have to read it again).
Edit - sorry Out of Order - I did not see your post so we must have posted at the same time!

Okay I misread above - see the story about adopting other babies:

At this time, we also have Canada goose eggs that were orphaned,” Yount told GrindTV.

“Geese are great moms and will often adopt babies that are not theirs, so if she accepts her own offspring back, we may also add in the orphans so they can grow up in the wild with a wild Canada goose.

Growing up wild is the best thing for them
