I just got home. I am glad to be home! I'm sore, and stiff feeling from the long ride.
I got a big surprise today at the hospital. A lady came in with a Lab/poodle mix dog. She told me they have been visiting the hospital for the last 2 years, and that the dog always looks forward to Thursdays. His name was Bentley, and he was 4 years old. All white, and absolutely beautiful. He put his front paws on my bed for me to pet his feet, and head. After about 3 minutes, he was ready to go to the next patient! What a wonderful thing that dog does! It brightened my day!

So glad to hear you're doing well.

BTW, It's impossible not to have your day brightened by a lab. :biggrin2:

Hey Pegasus - it sounds like they fixed up a couple of quirks while they were in there, huh? So now you'll probably feel better (I hope!) Internet in the hospital? :chuncky: Wow - when I had my surgery all I got was a lousy TV (about 8 inches square with crappy reception!)
Glad everything turned out great - get lots of rest and take care of yourself :smile2:

I hope you feel better today after a night at home in your own bed.
That's really neat that they do dog-therapy in the hospital. I take my Chocolate Lab to one of the retirement villa/dementia hospitals here for visits with the folks, she loves it as much as they do. :)

I hope your recovery goes well and that you'll quickly be feeling better. xox

Thanks everyone! I slept good. I think I fell asleep before 8 last night. I was up early yesterday morning, and it was a tiring day. Plus that long ride made me even more tired.
Got up to my daily routine in the house. Slow going though. I had all kinds of messages on my cell when I turned it on, so I answered them.
It is hard getting up, and down out of bed or in a chair, but it will pass.
I have to go get a blood test next week for my regular doctor.
I go back to the surgeon on th 18th, and to my regular doctor on the 19th.
My sugar wasn't bad while I was in the hospital. The highest I got was 248.

So happy you are out and feeling good! Love this dog story - it made me cry. What a sweet thing for that woman and her pup to do every Thursday! Keep on healing Mary!

The TV that was in the room had a handle that you could move it however you wanted it right at your bed. There were headphones that could be plugged into it, and a keyboard could be plugged into the TV also. It was touchscreen, and on the menu was the internet. Pretty damned cool! My kids thought that was amazing!

This is as close to Bentley as I could find..

I have a confession to make. I could have left by the third postoperative day but I stayed one extra day until Thursday (plus I was only 49 at the time so maybe a bit of wimp). Apart from the cruddy hospital food and the sad little TV I liked being there and being taken care of. Did you actually go home on the first postop day? :star: Wow - take care and take it easy - don't overdo it at home. Make sure you get lots of rest and take your meds!
