Sorry! Hope I did not sound like a "grammar nazi" - for all I know, perhaps you DID mean transgress, as in referring to authors who you feel transgressed the rules of good writing.

What did you think of his book "On Writing"? - I read it for the sheer pleasure of it, as I have no ambition to become a writer, yet I did enjoy it so much!

Haha, you're absolutely right Neesy, I definitely meant 'transpire.' Also, I've never actually read his memoir yet. It's been sitting on my kindle for a while now. I'll have to bump that one up on my summer reading this
