No clue. It seems so weird. They must be cat lovers too.

Not really. I studied Justice in school, and I absorbed a lot on how to think about crimes based on how they are written about in the media, and to me, based on what I see in the article, the two bizarre items stolen could indicate a personal relationship with the deceased. Sometimes relatives, lovers, and former lovers have disagreements about estate matters and this is the type of thing you might see. The ashes came from someone loved, cats are something of domesticity, to love...this may be a crime of love, family... However, depending on the situation, and all items stolen, it could have been that the urn just looked cool to a couple of thieves, who may have taken it in a haste, not realising what was in the nice looking wooden box, just thinking that it looked good.

They left with firearms, jewelery and a bunch of stuff as well. I majored in psych in University and I do not have a friggin clue about crimes or people lol. Only that I would like to bitch slap alot of them.

Well, they may very well be regular old thieves, that merely stole weird things, but there's a lot of crime around estates, it's usually white collar, but often a relative does not get what they felt entitled to and stoop to some irregular means.

Pimp slapping people is a crime of passion brought on by something called every day stressors. ;)

Yeah, I can get passionate about slapping even without the big stressors like divorce or death. My hierarchy of needs is all about avoiding most folks....except the streetpeople...they are my passion.
I do hope the kitties are fine though. They are precious lil creatures.

Hopefully the thief gave the kitties to their wife/gf/kids, and if they kept them, hopefully they take good care of them. Maybe some leads will turn up, perhaps the cats are chipped.
