As much as I enjoyed The Danse Macabre, On Writing is my favorite non-fiction work by King. It's not only a master tutorial of the craft, it's also a lovely visit with Uncle Stevie. He writes nonfiction with the same ease to the reader as he does his fiction. It's just a pure delight to pick this book up.

It was like a long one-on-one conversation with Mr. King.

I've read On Writing twice and enjoyed it both times. However, Danse Macabre is my favorite. Probably because it's so nostalgic.

I love On Writing. Very personable, and from a 12 step standpoint (both my parents were in A.A.) very real. I like that he didn't make any excuses about his problems or his writing.
