But that's the thing. As long as it's only legal at the state level, the feds can still swoop in and launch raids like that. So it's not really legal at all. Federal prohibition needs to be repealed.
All I can do is keep offering information and hope that one day, enough people will demand that change
Aha! I never understood why legal farms got raided, but now I understand. What a disgrace!

I'm posting in this thread to inform and hopefully help people with the knowledge of this medicine. But I helped myself, too. Right now, I'm talking to someone in Australia whose brother has a brain tumor. They can't put their hands on a whole pound of plant material to make such a big batch... not many people can. And I couldn't find that video about making a smaller batch. So I came here to get the link. It's helpful to have a tidy little spot where I can find my own links.
:)

Cannabis kills cancer. Not people.

Zero deaths is incorrect. A kid I went to high school with died! linked directly to smoking up. Also a girl in Montreal died from smoking pot. Those are two I know off the top of my head. It's easy to find a cute picture with the stats you want, but it doesn't make them true.

Please, by all means, send me the stats and the articles. I will be more than happy to eat my words.

In the meantime, I did find an article about a girl that died in Montreal. After taking Ecstasy. I couldn't find any deaths directly related to pot.
It's physically impossible to overdose on marijuana. A person would have to smoke, like, 20,000 joints in an hour to even come close. A person can have a very nasty overdose experience and become ill from smoking too much, but not overdose.
But I do want to provide accurate information. I'm not being snarky. Please send me any information about somebody dying from pot and I'll include that in the information I give people.

And please, keep in mind that the context I'm talking about is overdose. I'm not talking about some stoner driving his car up a tree. That's a whole different kettle of fish.

And in the context of the thread, I'm suggesting that people seek information about Cannabis oil as a medical treatment. I don't encourage people to smoke it recreationally. To me, that's just a waste of good medicine.

Driving a car into a tree, is no less dead.

Does cannabis oil give the same side-effects as smoking it? Smoking it is prescribed for various health problems, and it does give those side effects. (PTSD is one thing it's prescribed for.)

No, absolutely. It's no less dead. Any loss is tragic. But that's not Marijuana exclusive. A person can be stone sober and crash a car, or drunk, or eating, or doing their makeup. If a drunk driver kills somebody, they don't blame the booze, They blame the driver.
I'm talking about Marijuana actively causing a death, as in an overdose. I see where you're coming from, though.

Most people who ingest the oil say they never got high from it. The chemical compound is different in the oil than in the raw bud, and the oil dosage is so small, less than a grain of rice. But every person is different, so I don't want to say absolutely not. But nobody I've ever talked to has gotten high from it.

In cases of people dying in a car accident resulting from driving drunk or stoned, I probably blame the substance just as much as the user.
It's helpful to know whether the results are the same or different with smoking/ingesting though, thanks.

Visit to hospital prompts Gerogia lawmaker to back medical Marijuana

Republican state Rep. Allen Peake visited 4-year-old Haleigh Cox in the pediatric intensive care unit at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston on Wednesday.
“When you see that little girl, the precious little angel," Peake said. "It's touched me deep, deep in my soul, so I'm going to do everything I can to see what we can do for these families."
Haleigh suffers from a severe seizure disorder. Her parents told Channel 2’s Lori Geary that because they can’t get the medicine they need in Georgia, they are relocating to Colorado, where children treated with cannabis oil are seeing amazing results.
Now Peake has joined the Cox family to fight for Haleigh’s life and for thousands of Georgians who could benefit from medical marijuana.

GOOD! More people need to get on board. Cannabis oil cures cancer as well as a host of other afflictions, including seizure disorders.

Includes video of the visit.
