Technically, you probably do but if you are doing this strictly for personal use and would not be distributing or selling any products using the images, it's unlikely you'd have to worry about being prosecuted for copyright infringement.Does anyone know if I need permission to use photocopies of Stephen King’s book covers? I should also add that Stephen does not own the copyright to the covers, that is owned by the publisher/artist.
It's not something he contests although I think his foreign rights agent does let him know if the title will be changed. Perhaps it's just that there's never been one that he objected to so vehemently that he asked that it not be changed. It`s another subject but i don`t want to open a new thread.
Does Stephen has a say about the Book Names, in other countries ?
For Example:
Bag of Bones is Sara in German.
And i`m pretty sure, that i`ve read, that he met a guy from Heyne(German Publisher) in England
and asked him someting like: "You named it Sara ?...Really ??"
Probably translation runs into problems, the language might not have an equivalent for a particular title. It's not something he contests although I think his foreign rights agent does let him know if the title will be changed.
