Thank you, do1you9love. And that's the funny thing; my son did interact with that dog! That's why we went ahead with the adoption, everything seemed so perfect. It wasn't until we got the dog home that he started in with his bad behavior with my son. We weren't even in the house two seconds before this huge dog took my little son's arm in his mouth! My son was just over a year old at the time, so you can imagine how little he was. I dealt with it though, and did my best to teach the dog that my son was part of the family. And I thought I was doing so well! I'm still second guessing myself and regretting the decision, but I always counter it with the thought of, what would have happened next time? It's the people who ignore the danger signs who wind up in the news with some tragic story.

Still, Ronan was perfect in every other way. In two weeks, he was already protective of me and doing things like "herding" me away from big holes in the ground, or growling at any sketchy-looking character that got too close to me on a walk. He made me feel perfectly safe, and I slept better at night knowing he was there. He was easy to train, and completely fearless. I never saw that dog cower once in the whole time I had him. I wish I could find one just like him and raise it from a puppy! Here, let me see if I can find the one pic of him...
