Skimom2, the 2 blessings I have now were both unplanned.
I don't know what I'd do if God saw fit to "bless" our family again. Probably hand the baby over to hubby and immediately join the Witness Protection Program.

Mjs9153, I can see how you'd think that...I got a chuckle out of your reply!
I'd run away--I'm 48 now! It's unimaginable.

Am I the only American who doesn't give a crap about the super bowl? My son is allowed to dress down on Friday in whatever team's colors he wants to win the game.
I had to Google to find out who was even playing.
Nope. No idea who's playing. I wouldn't know when, either, but BH suggested we have a super bowl party but watch Firefly instead (he just wants an excuse to eat crap all day on Sunday :D).

I'm only 41, but with a directionless 19 yr old daughter (who has her own health issues) and an autistic (soon to be teenage) son, I feel much older. I'm living on too much stress and not enough sleep as it is.
Exactly. My oldest was born when I was almost 27, and the difference in energy between having a baby at 27 and at 39 was tremendous. I just couldn't now. I'm done procreating and praying for menopause (which I will never trust entirely. I've known people to get pregnant because they stopped paying attention. ETERNAL VIGILANCE! NO MORE KIDS! :D).

Tsk, tsk.

My youngest had a day last year at school about this time and they also were kinda expected to wear some NFL team jerseys or shirts. I offered her plenty of NY Jets jerseys and shirts to wear but she refused them. She said if she wore one of those everybody would laugh at her. I know you might not understand, but those that know a little bit about the NFL would fully understand this. :)

My husband is an Eagles fan, so... :D

Kids grrrr...

This is my thought today, too.

My grandma always said, "When they're little, they step on your toes. When they're bigger, they step on your heart."

The 13 yr old did some stepping on the hearts last night.

A woman (about my age) that I see everyday told me this morning that she's pregnant and my first thought was "Better you than me!"...I did manage to say "Congratulations!" though.

I'd cry. When I found out I was pregnant at 38, that's pretty much what I did for two weeks--lol. It's been a blessing since, of course, but that first shock was terrible :waaaht:

ETERNAL VIGILANCE! NO MORE KIDS!
skimom2 - I'd buy this Tshirt!

God help me. I'm Catholic, I work in the church, surrounded by large, large Catholic families -it's a thing here. And I have my 3 - the oldest is going to be 25 this year. The youngest is 12. The middle, the boy, will be 15 next week. There is drama every day. There is yelling. There are rules and chores and guilt. And when I hear a young woman announce her first pregnancy I want to cackle like a mad woman. And I am so grateful that my oldest has not had any children yet. I think I'd be ok with no grandchildren. Like I need more people to worry about? Pft! I would grieve myself to death if I got pregnant again ever. At the heart of this is so much love it's frightening. All these people who are part of me needing all these things and anything can happen to them. It was so much easier when they were babies you could carry them with you all the time. I thought that was hard, but this part is way harder.

I could've written this. Spot on.

PS: everytime I read skimom's post, I think of Mad Eye Moody in Harry Potter yelling "CONSTANT VIGILANCE!"

Not only that. I have a toothache. When concentrate at work, I stick pens in my mouth and chew em while drawing. Lovely. Don't know I am doing it.

Today, with shirt on backward, I took a fat highlighter out of my mouth. How'd that get there? Sure that looked.. okay..

Hair a mess while thinking and pulling it, and saying curse words to the computer.

(And I started an annoying co-worker thread)
