The holidays are upon us and after discussion among the moderators, it has been unanimously decided that we will be closing the Board on the following dates to give us the chance to enjoy the holidays with our families and so that the volunteer moderators will not have to cover for me while I am on vacation. The Board will be open to read and those who have those privileges can still send private messages and post to Profiles.

I read Boys and Girls--stunning description and ends with a muted life changing declaration.

@Christine62 Thanks for this! I love short stories, and I love Alice Munro! Next to being a CR, I'm a short story fan. There are a few anthologies I try to snag every year: Best American Short Stories, O'Henry and Pushcart when they're available. There's even a Best American volume that was guest edited by Stephen King - it's my prized volume! Also by reading a couple of these Alice Munro's online, I have discovered that I don't like reading online - I've been debating on getting an ereader, now I think I know I wouldn't like it. I need a real live book. But it was cool to read these - thanks!

This was a great book. I love how the "freaks" were shown as a normal family, and they were all so manipulative. No "inspirationally disabled" here!
