I am saddened to report the passing of PITH's mama. I received a voice message from him just after midnight. I spoke with him this afternoon and she was doing well and was to be transferred to a floor unit.

Let us keep him to our prayers and good thoughts. Mama was his whole life.
May Mama be at peace and rest well.

...Patrick is as good a friend as one can have, when they've never met hill-billy to redneck...he and I share many of the same views and certainly a skewed sense of humor...he will need his sense of the absurd and whimsy to pull him through what will be an incredible adjustment...he lived for Mama, and special blessings upon him for the love and care he showered her with-his conduct is a lasting testament to the tremendous job she did raising him....there was a special bond between them, and that kind of love doesn't die-simply because her body has shed it's cares and woe...grace personified their little patch of grass, and my brother will weep there frequently, but smiles will eventually pierce the cloud of sorrow...all I can do is offer the unconditional love of my wife and I, and make ourselves available at any time...he is my brother in everything but blood, and though I am saddened-I also celebrate a life that was long and wonderfully well-lived...I raise a cup of joe in her memory...
