Canadians can get a free card from InnoviCares, to get a portion of the difference between some brand name and a generic prescriptions.
I know, if it seems to good to be true it usually is, but I looked in to this and it is legitimate. You get the card for free and take it to your pharmacy. They keep the number on your file and if you are prescribed any of the covered meds, it is applied. (I used the sites search tool and the only pharmacy near me that does not accept the card is a little mom-&-pop type that I didn't even know was there. It appears all the big chains accept it.)
You can check what is covered by province on the web site.
