...his name is Calvin, originally Callie cuz we thought he was a she as a kitten...
This happened to us, except in reverse. Missy was really a He, but the name stuck even after he was neutered....and we referred to him as a she and a her for the rest of his life. (I loved that cat. I wagged Missy around when I was little and she let me - very patient, sweet, lovely cat.)

I had a "Billy" who was a girl and I now have a Stanley, (though I spell it Stanlee) who is also a girl. Billy was a surprise, but with Stan, we knew all along that she was a girl, she was just so runty that her first people decided to give her a fighting chance with a 'big' name. (She was hand-reared from 2 days old (premature) and nearly didn't make it.)
I wanted her to keep that handle... it's quite funny because she is tiny/petite. :biggrin2:

One of the farm cats I rescued is named Ash-I originally thought she was a "he" and used to call her "Ashton" when she was in trouble-now it's "Ashley!" ;-D
