Went to see a theatre production of The Shawshank Redemption a few months ago in Leeds, UK. It was pretty good, only criticism is that it felt like they were copying the film more than the book.

I can see how Shawshank would work as a play. Great set!
...thanks old buddy....I knew there was a stage production, but hadn't seen any cast or set pics....
It worked perfectly as a play. The sets were changed in a matter of a few minutes. There was plenty of laughs in there. Also the rape scene wasn't removed, but obviously toned down.
Members from the UK will know Ian Kelsey, who plays Andy, from tv series Emmerdale and Casualty. Patrick Robinson, who plays Red, plays 'Ash' in Casualty.
