Hi, everyone!

As I mentioned in my introduction here I am currently translating (while heavily overhauling) 1st book of my series under common name Simbiat. To cut the long story short, all the chapters already "published" (posted on Russian website proza.ru 'cause it allows at least some property protection and stuff) can be reached through this post on my series' Facebook page - Simbiat | Facebook . The same page also has different comments on every piece I've published so far.

Now for those bored enough to read the unnecessary text and not the chapters themselves :D

The series was inspired by Tolkien's LOTR, Herbert's Dune, Meaney's Paradox, Marvel Comics and... King's Dark Tower. In fact, I came to this forum, 'cause one of the old ideas for the book included using Dark Tower's world and even Eddy Dean. I know it's highly unlikely King would approve of such a thing, but... If he does - that could my life easier, because other wise I'll have to crate a different world whatsoever :D And Dean could be a good example for my character at later stages of the story. Yeah, ex-drug addict as a good example. You read that right.
You see most if not characters are "broken" in one way or another. Some are obvious in that regard, some are less so. This is one of the reasons I deliver the story through eyes of different characters, not just one or from 3rd person. It's to get a pick into their insanity or at least into their own darkness. Or maybe light. But mostly insanity.

The premise is quite cliche and this is somewhat unavoidable for me, but I hope that the way I tell it is not so old. Sudden power given to a school kid, feme fatale, conspicuous organization, demons, multi-verse, probably some time travel, sex, gore... And lack of interest in all of this from main character, Dmitry. Initially I thought of it as a flaw, but then I realized it could be a "feature", which really kicks the story off and maybe gives it a somewhat fresh air. Not sure how I can explain it here without spoiling, so... Just read till the 7th chapter and further (when I publish future ones). And if you see a cliche, please, try to look at it as a starting point: some of the obvious points will turn out way less obvious when you might think. And I do know what you are thinking ;)

Also, note, that since English is not my native language, there may occur some phrases that may sound a bit... Odd. I know of those, I periodically look through to correct them (and mistypes, as well), but it may take some time for me to actually clean up the whole text (=

Hope you will enjoy it nevertheless.

BTW, I'm also looking for artists, who could draw out the spirit of the book.

This is not a new chapter, I know, but still something to be used in future. Far future, I guess. Based off a dream I saw today, which seemed to be inspired by Witcher. There are some polish words used here, so if anyone reads this, who knows polish and find something... Well, wrong in here, let me know.

Simbiat: Demon Hunt: Chapter X: Another Reality: Pastor
Simbiat: Demon Hunt: Chapter XI: Loose Control: Defense
Simbiat: Demon Hunt: Chapter XII: Painful Origin

WARNING: read the text by the links 1st!

Yeah, today we have 3 chapters. Well, technically, 2, because the 12th chapter is just "Besputha's Origin" piece, that found its way into the main continuity. There are just a few lines added in the end.
Why 3? Well, with Besputha's Origin, it's easy - because it was done already. With the other two... You see, I thought that if i published the "Pastor" it could have too much of an impact (just read it to understand why), and since the following chapter, explains where this particular story comes from (at least if you read carefully and think back on past chapters and, probably, if you know a bit of anatomy). So I thought it was a good idea to publish them side-by-side. "Painful Origin" is like a bonus, wrapping it up and, possibly, adding more sense to all of this.
"Pastor" was inspired by "30 Seconds To Mars" song "Buddha For Mary". The song itself does not have the theme of the chapter, but chapter has some themes from the song. When I heard it for the first time a particular world was pictured in my head and it turned into this chapter. For quite some time I thought about losing it in the current version of the book, but in the end decided against it, thinking, that it could be used as a way of... Describing how sensitive Dmitry is, perhaps. And also giving a peak in the future of the series.
"Defense" is more linear here and is simply a continuation of Dmitry's side of the story. He still believes this is all a dream (and trust me, it will take quite sometime for him to realize it's not) and that makes go rampant.
This is actually, why the chapter has a meta-title "Loose Control". I thought of using "Lose Control", but than added one "o", thinking it gives more depth to the terms and to the series of chapters with such as this. Dmitry in his current state is a lose cannon, and it will be quite often, that he will be losing it and behaving on his darker instincts. Considering that he thinks this is all a dream... Expect more juicy stuff.
You may have also noticed, that "Pastor" has a meta-title as well: "Another Reality". In previous versions it was call "Dream or reality", but I changed it to somewhat cooler title. The series of such chapters will be like mini-stories in the main story. They may seem irrelevant to the main continuity, but at the same time, they may mirror it, they may enhance the lore or simply explore the "what ifs". This particular chapter turned to be a little of all three, at the least.
In the 13th chapter I plan to return to Paul who starts his hunt by examining the scene of crime.

Simbiat: Demon Hunt: Chapter XIII: Assessment

WARNING: read the text by the link 1st!

Nothing much to say about this chapter, except that I took my sweet time with it :D This chapter has some lore in it and depicts Paul's investigation of the murders from previous chapter(s). This is the chapter where 2 lives are getting connected.
