...I envy you...seen him once, but like the saying goes-it ain’t never enough....wasn’t bored for a nanosecond....
I've been lucky enough to see him when he toured for Bag Of Bones and for Lisey's Story. Haven't had the chance to actually shake his hand and say a hearty 'Thanks!' as of yet. Maybe someday....

...I’ve said it before....an actual chance to shake his hand and say thanks is the only item on the bucket list that he purports to despise....no kitchen jokes or anything, it’s all I would like-from one big fella to another....

You have a really good time. Be careful of the weather. Dam ole snow.Stay safe and looking forward to your pictures.
I'm not driving for this trip, a friend is and she has an SUV, so I don't care if it snows. Well, I do, but you know what I mean. I'm going to be a passenger in the back seat!! Napping, probably. ;-D

I am taking along my little digital camera as the pics I take on my phone will be too big to post here.
When you see Marsha, you hug her and plant a big kiss on her cheek for me. I should have met this lady before now... it's crazy to have known her for so long and love her like I do, but I still haven't looked her in the eye to tell her so.
(I'd be slightly looking down at you when I said it though Marsha, I am just that teeny bit taller, yes I am... remember that .5... it's like a whole foot taller! )

I hope you have a wonderful time, Dana.... I wish I could be there with you both.

Marsha's going to be hugged out by the time I'm done with her. ;-D I've been given instructions by a couple other members to give her a hug for them. I'm going to make a list now so I won't forget! It's all good- I'm a hugger!!!

I was lucky enough to get that opportunity in Maine at the Finders Keepers Signing, and that is a moment I will cherish forever. I even have photographic proof!! I simply ask him if I could shake his hand and he obliged and made a joke about my my firm handshake (not intended, just how I was raised) and I actually got to thank him, just a simple thank you for all the years of entertainment (its so much more than just entertainment tho, isn't it?) And I also got to speak a few more words to him, he made another joke about the seated crowd waiting their turn about how it would be crazy if he looked up and everyone was dead. lol. Then I went about my way.
Now everything after that is just icing on the cake.

I agree, they paid for it, if they wanna sell it...their business, I`m really not mad at them.
Yes, the ticket, the time off, travel costs...dunno, the economy is hard, people do whatever they can do make some extra money.

Me personally, I would never sell anything out of my SK collection, never mind signed books and the limited editions from CD, I wouldn`t even sell any of the first editions.
Except for a medical emergency, that would be the only thing that would make me consider selling.
I`m not a wealthy man, not even middle class, and if I were to die tomorrow, my book collection is the only thing of value I would leave to my daughter as inheritance. I got no cash to leave her, not even a house, so...whatever I have is simply not for sale, it`s for her and I`m gonna give it to her all on her 18th birthday and if she needs to sell then, for college or whatever, if I can`t provide the funds in another way...so be it.
But until then...no selling ever, only invest in more books.
Here`s to hoping I`ll score one in Toronto, but it`s a slim chance, big event, lots of people and I`m going alone, so...chances are not great, but like Andy said: " Hope is a good thing and a good thing never dies. " :)

I hope it works out in your favor and you leave with a signed book.

At the Brooklyn event, it went so fast. He didn't have time to talk about any of his other works in any detail. I could have lapped it all up for another 4 hours--the audience was so quiet you could hear a pin drop (except for when they made us laugh!).

I agree, This one seemed to go by extra fast.

Safe travel for the tour group as they travel. Looks to be some "winter-like"( rain and snow!) weather in their path as they head to Missoula, MT.
Safe travels to our Ka-Tet as they also travel to the event.
It's always like that in Montana in October. I grew up there! But then I also remember driving through a blizzard on the 4th of July one year.

We attended the Newton tour stop on Thurs. And it was so much fun! We met up with some other SK fans before so we made some new friends.EVERYONE in our group got at least one signed book between each couple so that was pretty great! I actually thought SK looked great!
I LOVED LOVED LOVED how tickets and books were handled at this venue! It should be the standard for all of them! You needed to be checked off their list and your plus one had to be with you and the books were behind a desk in boxes and as you walked out you were handed a book.So all the people who like to "look" for signed books or bully the people handing them out into doing so were SOL-it was great!

I agree. This was just the way they handled the books in Brooklyn. I had no idea people would be so disrespectful as to search for signed books and push people out of the way. Social media has ruined interpersonal social protocol, I'm afraid.
