LOL! My daughter is passionate in defending him for that one
So you read it, or didn't you?
How can you know this?!
See? How different CRs can be. I really love Tommyknockers as is. It might well be the first sK novel I'll reread, which would necessarily be in my next life, since there's no way I'm ever getting caught up even if he stops writing as we speak and I know he just didn't.
That's great news. Very much looking forward to this as I enjoyed Mr Mercedes immensely. Can't wait.
Just stop it now, you two!
Mr. Mercedes takes place in 2009. It's possible that the sequels will take place later, maybe in 2014 or 2015, and if so, then Jerome will have gone on to college and would no longer be a teenager.
So you DID read the whole book or not?I assumed most people, about two weeks after release and reading a thread titled this, would have..guess I was concentrating on responding to Richard and not considering others..but regardless,it is nice to know that you,at least, pay attention and read my posts with such avidity..
...part Golden Retriever....
Did anybody else see what is in the newest news on the forum.
...uh-huh, and color me stoked if it happens....
Because that's the feeling I got from reading the novel, independent of the fact that I didn't read the sequels. Will the sequels be good or not? Doesn't matter.
Liked that Simpsons clip
That's a feeling, not knowledge.
Hence the "I liked" (personal; opinion) and not Mr. Mercedes IS (fact, universal truth) better as a stand-alone thriller.
Yes, after I read your post.
I'm sorry that I work full time and have a life and I didn't read the book on your time frame. The thread is called "Steve announces trilogy...." not "Let's discuss what happens" so I'm not sure why you thought it would only be for people who had read the whole book.
But what's even more puzzling to me is why you just can't admit that you maybe shouldn't have posted it without spoiler tags, apologize, and move on instead of acting like I did something wrong.
You seem to be missing my point, which I thought was obvious and which is: If Mr Mercedes is the first in a trilogy of novels the remaining two of which are yet to be written, how can you say you already prefer it as a stand alone book? You can't know that yet.
I don't think I need to apologize especially after you insult people by saying that you have a life and imply that others don't.. You jumped into the conversation while I was responding to Richard and I didn't need you to hop in there and be rude.. But of course as I have read your posts in the past you are always correct.. Or feel that you are.You seem to think that you are always right and people that don't agree with you are wrong.. So if you want to ignore me that is fine with me..and have seen you be wrong before, like assuming the Boston bombers were white old guys,of course you didn't admit you were wrong there..whatever, ignore or do what you want to..
Oh c'mon my darlings... mummy loves you both, don't make me tie you together.
(My mother did this to me and a sib once... wtf?)
