I don't watch reality shows so can't compare but I think even one with Stephen and me would be pretty boring. It's really just normal business office stuff that goes on for the most part so except for getting snippets of unpublished works or things that couldn't be said in public (so why would we be discussing them in front of a camera?), that's about the only thing I could think of that would be of interest to fans. Maybe I've just worked here too long so I've become jaded. ;-D

A Survivor styled show might work. I bet Ms. Mod would be dynamite in the challenges!!

Can you imagine a Stephen King plotted Survivor type show?! The ghastly horrors, the terrible monsters, the awful challenges. First you're fleeing Pennywise in the sewers and then you're face down in the the dirt sucking up Pet Semetary Slime. If you lose Cujo eats you.

Or they get hobbled by Annie Wilkes.

I wouldn't want a reality show, but I would like to see a PBS one-off show featuring King perhaps working on a short story with no interviews in it and no narration. Just him working at the computer for a while, maybe some excerpts from the activities of the office. Just a short thing, maybe twenty minutes.

I've said this before, and I know the answer is because of privacy concerns, but it is a shame he doesn't use the Bangor house that often any longer. That is one awesome piece of real estate from the photos I've seen and from that cable program that did the brief fly-over of the place (also, many, many years ago I saw it from the sidewalk, during the time when he could still answer letters personally and wasn't as famous as he is now). But I'm sure King owns a lot of nice real estate across the country, so I can understand why he may want to enjoy other places. I also came across the fact that Tabitha King owns an orchard/farm now. How is that business doing, Ms. Mod? The item I read said she made a great offer to the owner to buy the property. Sounds like a cool project.

They do still use the Bangor home, just not as often. They are given a level of privacy in their other Maine home that is no longer available to them in Bangor which is why they do not spend more time here. They can go about their daily lives there just like anyone else which is priceless to them.

Honestly, I think even a 20 minute show of watching him type a story would be extremely boring. I've been around when he is writing--there have been occasions when he's done a short piece in the business office or I've been at his home office and caught a snippet of that happening. Loud music, man typing completely absorbed and focused on the screen--move along folks, nothing to see here.

They do still own the orchard and as far as I know it's doing just fine. I'm not involved with that part of their business.

I have a terrible fear of seeing celebrities in real life or any semblance of their real selves so a reality show might be a horrible idea. I just think your idea of who a person is might be the way to keep it. I have been teased at work when famous people come in every so often... usually musicians...a co worker of mine always shrieks and want pics and hugs. Later I tease her and invariably some one pops off with "oh knock it off. if Stephen king came in you'd be like that..." I explain my biggest fear about that Is being disappointed... like what if he wasn't anything what I've imagined... or I think he is rude or boring or anything to blow my ideal s.k. I've been a life long fan (first book at 11...eyes of a dragon) and what if I saw s.k. on TV and thought... ugh... he sucks... then that might make his books (my whole huge, bent page now, collected hand me downs from mom'... my precious books!) something I'm less than loving to. Don't get me wrong...I'm interested in his life too... but I think my imagination is probably more interesting than real life. Don't wanna kill the dream baby. Like how I had a huge crush on matt Lauer until high Def TV. too close scrutiny isn't a good thing I'm my humble o.
