The Walt Disney Company

Bob A. Iger was appointed President of Disney in 2000. Headquarters remains in California and subtle changes of names and in structure have created new corporate divisions.

On March 3, 2004, at Disney's annual shareholders meeting a surprising and unprecedented 43 percent of Disney's shareholders withheld their proxies to re-elect CEO Michael Eisner to the board. Bob Iger was appointed new CEO in 2005. At The Walt Disney Studios, the Team Disney Burbank Building contains the office of President and CEO Bob Iger. On January 23rd 2006, to honor Michael Eisner for 21 years of devoted leadership, the Team Disney Building was given a new name with a dedication, Team Disney - The Michael D. Eisner Building. Don't ask me who was responsible for the new name. Perhaps Alan Bergman had something to do with it.

Alan Bergman took over as President of Walt Disney Studios which is also responsible for the international theatrical film distribution. The boardroom for the board of directors inside Team Disney - The Michael D. Eisner Building now answers, if questioned, to the President, Alan (one L) Bergman of Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California, USA, which is now the corporate headquarters for The Walt Disney Company Media Conglomerate. Bob Iger must now be content with the now meaningless titles of CEO and Chairman of the Board.

The hostile take over attempt over the years nearly destroyed the very essence of Disney and the traditions that always kept focus of value and quality with children and family entertainment in mind. Those good ole days will return soon. That includes the every seven year re-release of animation classics rule to include every new generation of children and family in the tales that once warmed the hearts and fascinated the imagination of their parents and their grandparents before that. Also, the added entertainment and joy of watching the animated epic classics as an adult appreciating more of the art than as a child. Films like Bambi, Sleeping Beauty, Dumbo, Lady and the Tramp, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, etc, had not ever before fallen away from their own charters and roots along with abandoning of always offering entertainment art directed at children and family.

Formerly, whenever a Disney Studios film release contained mainly adult themes the film used the name Touchstone Pictures as the production company. Touchstone is only a name assisting the Disney name to hold true to the founding principles and charters laid out by the founding brothers, Roy Oliver Disney and Walt Disney. Those days will return!

Disney Bros Studios. Hows that for a new corporate name?

Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California, USA, is now the corporate headquarters for The Walt Disney Company Media Conglomerate headed by President Alan Bergman. Me too...
