I wouldn't watch an all-female season... I'd watch an all-male season though lol. Heck, I'd just like to see a season where Malcolm isn't voted off too soon.
During the last few seasons, the players havn't seemed to be too concerned about voting off people who can win challenges. Why is that?
The way people play seems to have changed over the past couple of seasons. Fewer long-term alliances and more alliance-for-this-vote strategies.
I agree. The more recent seasons are more about short-term alliances and less about long-term ones. Players seem to be way more into strategy and have studied the Survivor playbook in depth. A lot may come down to editing and how the producers craft the material they get.
I haven't kept up with this one, I'm afraid. I need to catch up on it.
I'm slowly working on favorites - so far, I'm rooting for Devon and Ben. Waiting for some real cutthroat and genuine surprises, which I don't think have happened too much yet.
I dislike Ryan, the little weasel. Mike and Ben are early favorites. Next week is the merge, though. That's when the real playing starts.
I agree Tery. Now, the gloves really come off and the fun begins. I'm not a fan of Ryan either, which I'm hoping means he will do well but not win.

It's taken me all these weeks just to choose a favorite player - I kinda like Doctor Mike.
Ryan definitely needs to go home, just to get something healthy to eat and maybe some medical care. If he loses one more pound, he'll be in serious trouble. I don't understand why someone as fragile as Ryan wants to play Survivor. Surely he must have known that most of the challenges involve the need for strength.

Ohmygosh, the most boring season ever had the most exciting season finale ever!
I thought Ben was a goner. I liked Devon but I didn't think he could beat Chrissy. I didn't like Chrissy - not sure why. At first, I thought that secret advantage twist was unfair but then decided the ability to make fire should be considered - plus it got Ben into the final three Do y'all think the producers created the twist to give Ben a chance to become one of the final three?
I was sad when Mike got voted off but Devon was smart to vote for him.
Ryan acted like he deserved to be in the final three. He got argumentative and even attempted to throw Chrissy under the bus. Do y'all think he didn't know he was brought along because he couldn't win?

No, next season is all new players, but they will be living under the shadow of some of the worst plays ever made by past players.

I was pulling for Chrissy -- I didn't like the surprise twist at all. It seemed unfair. The three finalists were very shrill and contentious during final tribal, but I liked the format overall. The jurors were even interrogating each other to find the truth. And, man, that last immunity challenge was brutal.

Even though I liked Ben, I would have been ok with him being voted out fair and square. It was like the twist negated all strategy.
As someone who was pulling for Ben, I was happy he was able to get back in the game. However, I agree with Bev - it did seem unfair. I had mixed feelings about Chrissy, but she was smart and played hard, and the twist just felt like pandering to those fans that they knew would be supporting Ben.
This season was just meh (even Ponderosa was kind of boring), but still worth watching. I will always watch.
I agree that the twist seemed to stack the deck, as it were, in favor of Ben. It felt manipulative. There are too many of the advantages no, IMO.
