A place for folks to ask for technical help for computer or other gadget-type issues.

For example, I seem to have picked up a nasty Trojan called TrustMix. It hides behind other things like Java updates, and Malwarebytes doesn't detect it. I've managed to disable parts of it in MSconfig, but it's sneaky and just hides behind something else.

Anybody have any advice about how to get rid of it? (System restore isn't an option).

Thanks for any advice.

I haven't used Trojans since I found out they were only 98% effective....

I'm in a bit of a techie bind. I'm trying to do a system restore, but system restore says it can't, you know, restore because it detected a corrupt file on my drive and says I have to do a chkdsk to fix that first.
Chkdsk says it can't fix the problem and tells me to do a system restore to get around it.
*facepalm*
help?
