yes. Amanda palmer scares the sh*t out of me. But i love her freedom! That creative wild girl part of her speaks to the timid insecure part of me. I sent her one of my cards and keeping hope alive she'll write back.
She scares me, too! Part of her is this really REAL, earnest person, no BS, and it would be really cool if she crashed on my couch. But then she'd leave in the morning and the couch would have a weird smell, and the dog would seem disturbed.
Or, your couch could smell like Neil Gaiman.
I had a crush on him, but since his marriage he seems sort of tainted. So to speak.
I predicted they would be divorced by now. He seemed too classy to have such a brash partner. But, he's a man and getting his freak on.
Yeah, I don't get it at all. I think she bowled him over with sheer force and wild sex. Eventually he will recover and be like, "I need someone more like Dana Jean. A crafty girl, with goats."
I would bore the holy hell out of him. "Neil, come look at my quilt." "Neil, I'm taking a nap." "Neil, get your paws off of me , Columbo is on!"
I think he would find it refreshing, not having to hear someone say "f**k" every other word, or having his wife wear a merkin and sharpied eyebrows to the grocery, and looking like she bathes monthly.
And constantly being naked in front of other men. I get it, you're a free spirit. The body is art. We all have one. We shouldn't be ashamed. But, after a while, it just doesn't shock us anymore. But, maybe that's her point?! I don't know, I try to be cool but I'm just a tight azz.
You guys are KILLING me! I'm both fascinated and terrified by Amanda Palmer, and just in crush with Neil Gaiman. I just found out he's going to be here in November for a benefit for schools…but the cheapest tickets are $70. Not sure that's doable that close to birthday & Christmas season. DJ, I think you live pretty close--convince me to go & them come with me 
You go! I bet he would be very fun to see. And a real circus if he brings her. Which I know I sound harsh about her, but there is a part of me that so totally admires her free spirit. I love his voice, and he's a fascinating person to listen to I think Amanda Palmer is one of those people who is a mix of confidence and insecurity, and she's brash to cover the second part. She's am interesting person, though; I really enjoy her blog and her FB posts. She's a thinker, and though she's pretty liberal, she doesn't just parrot the party line without reason. I respect that.
