Don't worry about the title, although I agree, I would have chosen a different one...in all seriousness, is it too late, Ms. Mod, for King to change it? That would truly be an interesting social experiment: can an author-centric discussion board impact the title of a new book?
But back to not worrying about the title -- it really doesn't matter. We all will get used to it. It isn't that bad -- sounds like a Clive Barker-type title, and you can't argue with that company -- and whatever one feels now about it, the feeling will disappear relatively quickly.
Now, though, you got me thinking. How about "A Basket of Bad Dreams." "Portfolio of Corruption." "Spoiled Dreams." "Corrupt Confections." "A Collection of Bad Dreams." "Marketplace of Madness." "Market of Madness." "Dreams and Death." "Dreams: Death..." (exactly with that punctuation). "The Death of Dreams." "Another Shift." "Another Night Shift." "The New Crew." "The Next Crew." "Tales From the Bad Dreams." "Corrupt Evolutions." "Insane Design."
If King ever wrote another memoir/nonfiction-survey-type book, a great title would be "Bad Dreams From Bangor (and Beyond)."
I must point out, perhaps a lot of what I just came up with has already been used, I didn't check. And that could be a reason for the title, that believe me, is fine enough. Looking forward to this project. (Will there be new stories as well?)
