It's probably not what I would try during winter... but I love that our summer coincides with the Christmas break. I usually put the tent up early in the season and it stays up all summer and is used as another bedroom really. The boys all take turns, or have friends over to stay in it with them.

A good idea, too, using it to "extend" the house like that, and the fresh air can only be a good thing, as another bonus. And the seasonal difference makes me smile; our friend in NZ posted on Facebook about eating turkey on the beach, while we're here in layers and three pairs of socks each
