Happy Sunday everyone!! Hope all is having a great day. Mine have been great so far, even if I had to work today on my birthday.
I got a baked cake and a b-day present from my friend when I got home from work so not a bad day at all. It just could be a little warmer
outside. Now it's -8 C but still too cold for me. Started to snow middle of the day and it's still snowing.

Take care everyone and be well. Prayers being said for Mary and her family. May the surgery go well and she'll be back her soon with us.

Hi Holly - hope today goes better for you. @HollyGolightly
Happy B-day Jojo - mmm - cake! @Jojo87

It is Sunday so a quiet day here. I made some doughnuts from an old cook book that belonged to my Mom and then put them in a bag with sugar and cinnamon. They are really good split in half and eaten with marmalade.

I hope everyone has a nice enjoyable Sunday wherever you are. I'm glad that Mary's daughter contacted us and I'm sending prayers that they can get that cyst out.

Take care everyone!

your doing way better than I.
It takes time. You'll get there.
:smile-new:
What are you doing to lose @Lepplady ? I've made peace with my body, but I wouldn't mind shedding a few before the beach this summer. I'm just always going to be a curvy girl.
I had gastric bypass. It may seem like an easy way to lose weight, but believe me it's been tough going. I can only eat less than 1 measuring cup of food and I have to be very careful about what I have. I have to wait 20 minutes before and after I drink anything to eat anything, then another 30 minutes before I can drink anything again. I found out the hard way that it HURTS if I'm not careful. And I never know from one day to the next what's going to make me sick. I mean laid out holding my belly because it hurts sick. So surgery has been a huge help, and I'd do it again tomorrow, but it hasn't been easy by any means.
If anybody asked me for advice, I'd tell 'em to keep protein handy. And never mind the sugary protein bars you see on TV. They make 'em with low sugar and high protein. Read the box. Snack on those instead of sweets and it really does take the hunger away.

I heard from the lady that works at Coliloquy again about the Hard Listening Sweepstakes but again there is no mention if I have won anything in the contest. I am on pins and needles! I never win anything (but I usually don't enter contests). Well, I did win a teddy bear at the traveling carnival one time in Pennsylvania when I was 10. I also won an ARC of Lisey's Story from Scribner, too. That was a cool treat! So guess I have won some cool things in my life.....

Good Monday ( Tues for Flake) to all. Hope you enjoyed the weekend and got to do something special. Weather changed here and looking towards a week of cold temps again.
Brought in some home made fresh from the oven blueberry muffins. Enjoy.
Hot herbal tea in hand and heading to bean bag central. All welcome to join. May Mother Nature be calm this week.

Good morning everyone! We have a sick child today. The husband is taking him to doctor because I'm so swamped at work. We all had terrible cold over Christmas, I believe his has turned into bronchitis, which so often happens because he has asthma. I didn't know until I had a child with it, that asthma is more than just restricted airway - for my son it's been more of a compromised immune system thing. But he'll be fine and gets a day off school, so he's not too sad. Be good today!
