Good morning, everyone.

The kids all had a good first day, and Evan didn't get lost once! ;-D Everything went as planned until the end of the day, then things got a little scary.

I had RJ, he was his normal, smiling self until around 1:30. He thinks he will miss out on something, so fights naps, but yesterday took the prize!! He screamed, and I mean screamed, for around 45 minutes. Nothing was working, not rocking and singing, not setting him down, not hubby. He finally gave up and fell asleep right around the time Evan texted me after school, which for him is 2:50. I texted him back we'd see him soon, and to please be quiet when he got home, because RJ was sleeping.

I was just getting ready to head over to pick up Ty and Ali, at 3:20, (which is 20 minutes early, but if you want a parking spot, that's when you leave.) Evan texts me again and says he just got on his bus. I said oh, is it going to be that late every day? He says hang on, I'll call.

So he calls and tells me the bus driver told them 2 houses were on fire across the street from Ty and Ali's school and that his bus is going there. ( Again, I'm not sure if this is a daily thing or because of the fire.) By now I'm at the end of our street, and there are fire trucks, ambulances, police cars with lights swirling. If Evan hadn't told me what was going on, I would have been in panic mode immediately, seeing that. (And THAT was how loud little RJ was screaming, I thought I heard one siren, but it sounded much farther away than the two blocks to the school, and I never heard a cacophony of sirens over him, neither did hubby.)They had the streets blocked off, no way to even get to the school. So I came home, called the school and told them Evan's bus was coming there, he would come inside and get Ty and Ali. We finally were directed to go to where the buses line up, so Scott went over and picked them all up.

No one was hurt, thank goodness. Kids were sheltered in place until a parent came to get them. The people in both houses were all safe. But. The houses, oh. The one on the corner is a total loss, half of it is just gone. And the house next to it suffered damage, the siding and roof caught. Those poor people! But, thank goodness no one was hurt.

Hopefully, there is no excitement like that today!

Have RJ all day again, and hubby's physical this morning, mine late this afternoon. Pretty busy day ahead again!!

Hope you all have a great Thursday! Sending big hugs and positive vibes to all!!
That's a pretty remarkable first day! I'm glad everything's all right.

Wow! What a way to start back to school! So sorry for the folks whose homes were damaged!

I was a "slight pain in the arse" too!

And my hippie name is...
Breeze - Like the wind, you go where life takes you. You can hardly stay in one place for too long and settling down is not an option. People find you to be very calming and they probbably come to you when they need to de-stress.

Pretty close except for the settling down part. I love to travel, but love to come home even more!

((all in need or not))

I am going to be a "Crazy Witch" according to the above chart - this will probably turn out to be true!

I just listened to the following through my headset:

"Pain control was managed in conjunction with the Acute Pain Service who recommended regular (and I will spell this phonetically with the accent as indicated by the doctor) ass-it-AM-in-o-fin".

This threw me for a loop momentarily... Who pronounces this word in this manner?

He actually meant acetaminophen :no_pig:(as in A-seeto-min-a-fen).

Sorry to interrupt the Ka-tet but I just had to get that off my chest!
