Sam was in that episode where he banished Carol. They were looking for medication in the houses and the two hippie people were stuck in the bathroom.

He was in season 4, remember when Carol and Rick went searching in the houses and they met the hippie couple who wanted to join them and help them search? Rick gave Sam his watch...I thought he and his girlfriend had both been killed by the walkuhs.

If I remember correctly, the girl got taken down by zombies. The boy saw it, and walked away in a daze.
