Still iffy on that one, to be honest. I bought the season (because it was cheap, and I hate to miss things--lol), but the previews don't look so great. I try not to take reviews to heart, the the Chicago Trib didn't give it a great review.

I was iffy at first, skimom2, but I'm going to get give it a go! It's definitely going to show a different light/perspective on the TWD world, so that might be interesting :)

The woods are lovely dark and deep
I have been seeing previews that we are going to be seeing what was going on in the world, while Rick was in his coma.
I got a seven minute preview from AMC that explained exactly what you said, Mz. Arista! As to tepid reviews I am inclined to believe that they are generated by people that just don't like horror.

I'm pleased to see a thread for The Walking Dead here. I just started to watch this show, having binge-watched the first 4 seasons in the last month...and I am helplessly hooked. I never was a fan of anything zombie but my sister convinced me that the show has great story lines and a great cast. She was right, this show is top-notch. I am looking forward to purchasing/watching season 5 in just over a weeks time!

Here the previous seasons are on CRAVE tv. And because Fear the Walking Dead is about to start the station it will be on is showing all of them.
Where I am located, AMC is running all previous seasons as marathons every Sunday. I can't order them to watch when I like so I prefer to have the DVD's. I Don't have CRAVE tv but think it is available here. My sister loaned me the first three seasons and I recently bought season 4, and will buy 5 as well so I think I got off fairly easy purchase wise. At any rate, I love the show and look forward to much more of it.

I also picked up the first edition of the comic to compare out of curiosity and the show of course goes into much more detail and there were quite a few differences. I won't be getting hooked on the comics though, there are over 50 in the series, and at $18.00 a pop, far too costly for me.

I don't know if this has been discussed on the boards before (being new) but I just re-watched The Stand mini series and couldn't help but notice some similarities between it and The Walking Dead. Stu and Rick in a hospital, main female lead pregnant, even characters with the same name of Glen. It was interesting to watch and how TWD came to mind.
