Why didn't I like this movie? On paper I should have. Good cast, good story. I sat down prepared to like it. I found it boring and felt like it went on forever. I have a very catholic taste in films. I will watch anything that sounds like a good story. Weterns, war, thriller, pretty much anything. So help me. Why didn't I like it?

I cannot help you. In my growing-up years, Sam Peckinpah was the director who was the splatter guy, and that just didn't appeal to me. One guy telling me about The Wild Bunch told me about the top of some guy's head getting blown off. I don't know if that actually was shown, but it made me not want to see it.

In later years, I relented a bit and watched Straw Dogs, The Getaway, and Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. None of those were impressive to me.

I realize that Mr. Peckinpah has a fan base, but it's just something I don't get.
