...we are all of a certain age bracket, and that was a show I had to watch whenever I could....far as I'm concerned, it inspired the Steampunk trend before anyone even knew what in tarnation that was.....

Bro. Yes it IS Steampunk. And in terms of the 007 spinoff gig, can you dig the train (as in Bond's Aston Martin), and West's personal arsenal hidden festively behind that map of the USA, not to mention the gadgets. The best part was Conrad's physicality, his ability to make the physical confrontations believable. He did virtually all his own stunts.

That is one show I've always heard about but never seen. I imagine the series is still available somewhere, I'll have to check and see. I saw the Will Smith version and that wasn't very good but I like Kenneth Branaugh in anything and he was over the top in that one!

I absolutely loved this show! Artemis was the man!!
Ross Martin could be an Italian, a German, a Scot, an Irishman, an Englishman, a Russian, an Hebrew, an East Indian, a Frenchman, he could be from New York, from Kentucky, he could be Cajun, Cuban, or Spanish. He could do comedy, drama, action, could be the bad guy, the hero. He could do anything.

Artemus Gordon: Although he was considered insane by his peers, Bernoulli's theory states that the air flowing over a bird's wing is at a lower pressure than the air flowing under the wing. That's called "lift," and that is what we're now going to... attempt. Of course, it's only a theory, it's never been tested...

James West: Stop talking.

Artemus Gordon: Sorry.

Artemus Gordon (regarding his new diving mask invention): “Think of that. Five minutes, underwater, submerged, and you’d still survive. That is, if somebody was trying to drown you.”
Jim West: “What if doesn’t work ?”
Artemus Gordon: “Bring it back. I’ll make you a new one.”
