put me in the meh category i guess. i don't dislike his stuff, it can be engaging. i am annoyed at how he seems to have placed himself on the throne of "most published/sold author ever" in light of his army of co-authors. seems like a cheap way to get that "record" similarly to an earlier poster, i gave up trying to keep up with his stuff a long time ago, because sometimes he hits double digits in a year. he's strictly on the buy from a used book store list, and there's only one particular bookstore i'll buy him from (well, it has 3 locations, 1 of which is convenient and 1 of which is on the way to a friends in KY). they have a lot of books for dirt cheap, one of the only places i've seen where the stock is huge and the prices can be as low as a nickel for a book in good condition if they have a lot of copies. if his books are say a buck fifty or under, in the cart. if they're over that, forget it, too many for those prices. for some reason, i haven't had a huge success rate at this, because as prolific as his books are, this place rarely prices them in a way that reflects their over-availability.
i will say that he's doing some good for reading, because his brand (not him personally) pumps out easy to read books at a breakneck pace, and apparently he does a lot of philanthropic things to promote literacy.
i might eventually read all of his stuff (i've read a lot of his early alex cross and a couple early women's murder club), but it's rather low on the priority list, and i'm getting a hold of the books rather randomly considering my self imposed buying restrictions.
