When I was 16, Dad took me to the Met to see the Nutcracker for my birthday. Walked by a deli window closed for the night and saw a rat on the counter as big as a Pekinese. Never able to forget that 1st impression of the Big Apple.
I wonder if that rodent went into the next pastrami or roast beef sandwich. I hear horseradish goes well with it.

Our washing machine had a small leak which attracted water bugs aka palmetto bugs aka BIG ass roaches. They're big enough you can hear them move around... like a rustling sound. They're almost as large as a small mouse and their droppings look very much alike. Do you get water bugs where you live? Maybe it wasn't a mouse.

No, we don't have water bugs. I had to empty the trap, so I was able to see that is was very much a small rodent. It is small like a field mouse, didn't have protruding ears, and has a short tail. Very dark gray in color, sort of long nose.

I hate those things. We get them at work on occasion. I immediately call the exterminator. :(
