I watched Vincent and the Doctor (Doctor Who) with DD#2 last night--it reminded me of several paintings that I forgot existed, including a heart clench one of a circle of downtrodden looking men, with Vincent himself looking toward the artist. Van Gogh was truly a genius, but so sad.

Van Gogh created a lot of "copies" of others' works. Prisoners' Round (after Dore) is one. I agree that it's beautiful.
